What is Grad Fair and when is it?
Grad Fair is a special event held at the Campus Store where everything you need to celebrate your accomplishment will be available in-store for purchase. The Campus Store will also have opportunities to speak with U Careers for job hunting tips and a photographer available for headshots, and other activities to help you celebrate!
It is best to preorder your Grad Pack and pick-up at Grad Fair to guaruntee your gown size and college tassel color. After Grad Fair, grad packs are available online or by talking to a sales associate in store, while supplies last. After Grad Fair, we cannot guaruntee your gown size or college tassel will be available.
Grad Fair 2025 will take place at the Campus Store on the following dates:
Thursday, March 27 - 8:00 am - 6:00 pm
Friday, March 28 - 8:00 am - 6:00 pm
Saturday, March 29 - 11:00 am - 4:00 pm
How do I purchase my cap and gown?
Students can shop for graduation regalia in our Grad Packs (gown, cap, stole of gratitude, and college tassel), or shop a la carte. Students who purchase a Grad Pack will save 25% off of a la carte pricing. Shop all Grad Packs here or shop a la carte here.
Grad Pack preorders start March 1st and end March 25th. All preorders will be available for pick-up or will be shipped starting March 3rd.
It is best to preorder your Grad Pack and pick-up at Grad Fair to guaruntee your gown size and college tassel color. After Grad Fair, Grad Packs are available online or by talking to a sales associate in store, while supplies last. What if I missed Grad Fair?
Grad Packs or a la carte regalia will be available to order online at the Campus Store while supplies last. Product availability is no longer guaranteed at that point. It is best to preorder ahead of time and ship to your address of choice, or pick-up at Grad Fair.
When will grad packs be available online for purchase?
- Grad Pack Preorders will start March 1st and end March 25th.
- We will process your order when the product arrives; however, orders will be available for pick-up at Campus Store starting Thursday, March 27th during the Grad Fair.
- We will begin shipping orders as soon as product arrives.
Can I rent my cap and gown?
No. Student graduation regalia is not available to rent, only faculty regalia is available for rent. All bachelor’s, master’s and PhD/Doctorate regalia is for sale only. There are no returns on these products (including diploma frames). ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
How are gowns sized?
Gowns are sized based on height and weight. Every gown size is based on 2-inch increments starting at 4’10-5’00. For example, if someone is 5’11, they would need a 5’10-6’00 sized gown.
How can faculty order regalia?
Faculty regalia is available online at the Campus Store website for rental or purchase. Faculty wishing to purchase special order fine quality regalia should contact Thomas Warren at (801) 581-4733 or email twarren@campusstore.utah.edu
Where do Faculty members return rented regalia?
For Faculty members who rented regalia, please return regalia to your department by May 23rd.
What is included in the Grad Packs?
All Grad Packs include:
- Gown
- Cap (Tam if Doctorates)
- Special Edition 175 Stole of Gratitude
- College Tassel
- Masters or Doctorates Hood
- Upgraded packages include a diploma frame

What is the Stole of Gratitude?
The stole of gratitude is a red sash worn by graduates. This is not a mandatory piece of garb nor holds any academic significance. Traditionally it is a gift which the graduate wears through the ceremony. Then afterwards it’s given to someone who played a pivotal role in this phase of their academic career. Even though it is an optional piece, it dresses up the cap & gown ensemble nicely and shows your Utah pride. This year all Grad Packs include a special edition 175 Stole of Gratitude to celebrate the University of Utah's 175th Anniversary. Students can purchase additional Stoles of Gratitude here.
I chose to have my Grad Pack shipped to me? Should I still attend the Grad Fair?
In addition to picking up your grad pack preorder, there are a number of games, food, and fun at the Grad Fair this year. We will have professional photography for headshots available, as well as exclusive deals on announcement packages and commemorative jewelry.
